Welcome to issue three and your Q2 2025 dispatch from Ivory.

This quarter we have some exciting new destination insights from both Europe and the US. London has been buzzing, even more so with the inaugural London edition of SXSW and we've included the Savoy as a landmark staple (and coke pour) for this edition.

Our very own Siobhan has been promoted to account director and for those that haven't met her yet we have a get to know you article all about her.

We also have feature on immersive-me, an exciting content and technology partner we wanted to share and an update on the latest coffeehouse.

Best wishes,

Tom and everyone from Ivory

The Savoy gets a new look...

If you are looking for a touch of luxury then the Savoy Hotel in London is worth a fresh look. It's a hotel with a rich history with an impressive guest list over the decades from Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill, the Beatles, John Wayne, and Queen Elizabeth II to name check a few.
The Sir Prague Courtyard
It is in the final stages of a new refresh of the guest bedrooms which brings the traditional and art deco wings right up to date. It has impressive quality fixtures, a grand ballroom and the addition of new terraces which can be used for drinks receptions overlooking the Thames. Needlessly to say it's dripping with style and a coca-cola pour property.

On the doorstep you have Covent Garden so if you are looking for a VIP experience why not pair with a trip to the stunning Royal Opera House. Home to the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet, a short walk from the Savoy and a truly special experience. Alternatively, there are a a variety of beautiful spaces for dinners or events.

Girona is a hole in one...

We are currently working with a client on the EMEA stop of a regional series of events. The destination for Europe is The Hotel Camiral in Girona, which for all those gold fans out there, has a PGA course and training centre attached.
Located in north eastern Spain, Girona is famed for its well-preserved medieval Old Town, vibrant riverside houses, the impressive Girona Cathedral, and the ancient city walls.

Girona has it's own airport with flights all over Europe and is also an hour away from the major hub airport in Barcelona so accessible for a european or global audience.

The Hotel Camiral, as well as 138 elegant 5* hotel rooms, it houses eight large fully equipped meeting rooms, plus restaurants and private rooms to host any type of event.

It is set within 500 hectares of Mediterranean woodland with unique spaces and facilities for outdoor events in which to reconnect among vineyards, relax with a sunset yoga class or release adrenaline among the trees.

“Thank you for all of your incredible work to make this an incredibly successful event.”

Siobhan Husbands

Hi, my name is Siobhan Husbands and I am an Account Director at Ivory.

I chose the career of Experiential events as a return to work after starting my family. As someone who always needs to stay busy (although some may say I had my hands full raising small children at the time!) it had to be exciting, challenging and constantly rewarding.

I started out my career studying at UCL attending an intense 6 months post graduate course. 3 months in class and 3 months interning with hands-on learning. That 3 months internship opened up a freelance career that introduced me to Ivory Worldwide. The last 15 years has flown by, and since starting at Ivory Worldwide as a producer I am now enjoying the role of Account Director.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity of working on some amazing projects. There are too many to list here but a couple that stand out are HP at Cannes Film Festival and LFG7 for The Coca-Cola Company. HP at Cannes Film Festival stands out because we had 2 months to deliver a C-Suite experience including production and logistics. A project that historically would take 12 months in the making and it was a finalist for sustainable event of the year at Campaign due to the zero waste build of the hospitality lounge. LFG7 because it was creatively and tech forward working with some wonderful people at Coca-Cola and with an amazing global production team spanning across multiple locations and within a beautiful city.

If I was to be asked the question of how I find my career, I would say I am lucky. I have had the fortune to work alongside some wonderful creative and producers here Ivory; delivering experience and reaching audiences for some of the world's biggest brands. Oh, and the travel is great too. What's not to like?
Q: You've been with us over 3 years now, but what brought you here?
I began my career in the events industry working for a prominent Canadian brand, where I supported their community outreach programs. I helped organize and manage events and sponsorships to support local community initiatives.
Q: That sounds fascinating and so rewarding. And then you moved to New Jersey to work for us?
Not quite! After moving to the United States, I continued my work with nonprofits, collaborating with various charities on their fundraisers, community events, and marketing efforts.
Q: That sounds like wonderful experience, what brought you to Ivory?
Before starting full time, I was helping Andrea on some projects. I really love working for Ivory because of its culture and the amazing people who collaborate seamlessly as a team, and was delighted to join full time. The camaraderie and teamwork make every challenge an exciting opportunity to grow and succeed together.
Q: That's wonderful to hear. And when you are not working, what makes you tick?
I love vegetable gardening. It not only brings me joy and relaxation but also offers numerous benefits like fresh produce, an excuse to be outdoors, and a sense of accomplishment. Growing spicy peppers is my favourite!

Another trend is bringing the consumer orientated technologies which push boundaries and bringing them into the increasingly experiential demanding needs when it comes to engaging meaningfully and inspiring the B2B world. Intelligent storytelling at it’s best, in our opinion, if you get the chance we recommend a visit to ‘Seeing Echos in the Mind of the Whale’ in Barcelona. We love the way that Tom Mustill was able to bring his background as a biologist into his new passion as a filmmaker and writer - creating a story where people and nature meet.

We understand that working in a client's offices rather than a private venue presents unique opportunities and challenges.

At Ivory, we have 15 years+ experience working on a variety of size, scale and seniority of events with HP Inc., amongst others. We've even built brand destinations, permanent customer welcome centres, for Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Zurich, London and Houston.

We work closely with our clients to ensure a smooth process for employees and guests alike. We believe in the power of bringing your audiences on-site as a means to demonstrate your dedication and commitment to their success, building trust and rapport. A few principles we live by:
  • Deeper Immersion: Your audience gains a more intimate understanding of your culture and what makes Coke tick by coming to your office. Helping to build stronger relationships. It also enables us to understand and partner with you better whether that be onsite or bringing your brand into external event spaces.
  • Early Onboarding: It is crucial that your agency partner aligns with in-house teams early and learn how internal processes, hours of operations, services booking systems, and visitor protocols are handled so they can be incorporated into the planning from the start.
  • Clear Scope of Work: We define precisely roles and responsibilities early to ensure no duplication. Making life easier for you and ensuring time and cost efficiency.

  • Common Areas: Always mindful in shared spaces (kitchens, break rooms) so as to limit any disruption.
  • Confidentiality: We understand that this is paramount - it's a given with us. Anywhere and always.
  • Offer Help: If we see an opportunity to offer assistance, we will.
  • Printing & Supplies: Clarify access to printers, copiers, and basic office supplies. If frequent, we will offer to bring our own.
  • Problem Resolution: Have a clear escalation path for any issues that arise, whether project-related or logistical. This comes with the clear onsite roles and contact details we will share.
By adhering to these best practices, our team can become a seamless, productive extension of yours, fostering strong relationships and successful project outcomes.

Immersive-me

Ivory x IME have been exploring how to enhance brand experiences through creative technology and storytelling.
The video is of a project which recently won a Telly Award. It dives into the research and narrative behind the work, shows the fast turnaround, and highlights both the brand reach and the millions of visitors it attracted. It's a wonderful example of how to bring a truly immersive experience that chimes with our belief in the details making something truly special. It's bringing a fresh view while remaining grounded in the culture and traditions. From the spectacular visuals, the sound scape and the smells, we think they nailed it.

We really dug into this hot topic in a couple of ways. First off, James Hodges, Creative Director at Ivory Worldwide, kicked things off with a quick presentation, setting the stage for what promised to be a lively discussion. After that, we broke into smaller, facilitated breakout sessions.

This is one of the ways we seek innovative thought and ideas that we can bring back to our clients and workshops.
