Say ‘yes Sir!’ to Prague

In April 2024 we enjoyed organising a group of your Enterprise Services leadership team to Prague and in June 2024 we had the pleasure of taking some of your colleagues for a meeting at the Sir Hotel in Barcelona, led from Ivory by Berta from our Barcelona office.

We are therefore excited about a new opening of the Sir Hotel brand in Prague.
The Sir Prague Courtyard
Sir Prague is steps from the Vltava River and the iconic Dancing House (which houses the wonderful restaurant Ginger & Fred). The property blends Czech tradition with a touch of Bohemia, featuring a signature restaurant, bar, and library.
Why do we love it?
held in Florence. supported by Ivory
Right on your doorstep are a host of rich Prague experiences. These include a Grand Bohemia at night, Vintage car tours, hot air balloon tours or go further afield to visit the famous local vineyards!

Off the beaten track

Having looked at the Baltic states recently for several clients, we think they could be the next big thing in event locations. Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania all boast incredible destinations, walkable cities and affordable prices.
Tallinn, Estonia’s capital on the Baltic Sea, is the country’s cultural hub and leads the charge here. It’s walled, cobbled Old Town is home to cafés, shops, and Kiek in de Kök, a spectacular fifteenth-century defensive tower.

The wider city is laid back and charming with modern comforts alongside medieval intrigue. Tallinn’s walkable city center is one of its most attractive features, as is its alluring urban coastline.

For a smaller group consider the Nunne Boutique Hotel and a meeting and tour at the Fotografiska Museum. There are a host facilities and activities we can help you unlock for your next event.

Emma Farwell

This quarter, Tom sat down with Emma Farwell, one of Ivory’s Senior Producers. Based in the US, Emma works on our North American TCCC projects.
Q: You've been with us over 3 years now, but what brought you here?
I began my career in the events industry working for a prominent Canadian brand, where I supported their community outreach programs. I helped organize and manage events and sponsorships to support local community initiatives.
Q: That sounds fascinating and so rewarding. And then you moved to New Jersey to work for us?
Not quite! After moving to the United States, I continued my work with nonprofits, collaborating with various charities on their fundraisers, community events, and marketing efforts.
Q: That sounds like wonderful experience, what brought you to Ivory?
Before starting full time, I was helping Andrea on some projects. I really love working for Ivory because of its culture and the amazing people who collaborate seamlessly as a team, and was delighted to join full time. The camaraderie and teamwork make every challenge an exciting opportunity to grow and succeed together.
Q: That's wonderful to hear. And when you are not working, what makes you tick?
I love vegetable gardening. It not only brings me joy and relaxation but also offers numerous benefits like fresh produce, an excuse to be outdoors, and a sense of accomplishment. Growing spicy peppers is my favourite!

A year round retreat

The Coeur d'Alene Resort

Coeur d’Alene is a magical place. Here, spectacular North Idaho sunsets are reflected in glacial lakes left behind after the last ice age.

-
A tranquil setting... right out of a movie!
Located just forty minutes from Spokane International Airport in Washington, this tranquil setting feels like it’s right out of a movie, and is a unique location for a meeting or group event, if you’re looking for something that’s new but accessible.
As well as some larger meeting and conference facilities there are some wonderful options for VIP groups such as the historic and stunning Cougar Bay Lodge. In the winter your groups can hit the slopes and in the summer there are acitvities ranging from kayaking to sunset cruises on the lake.
This is a great location if you are looking for a bespoke, high end alternative for smaller groups who love the great outdoors in style.

The Joy of Art and Technology in Storytelling...

Kalkul

Another trend is bringing the consumer orientated technologies which push boundaries and bringing them into the increasingly experiential demanding needs when it comes to engaging meaningfully and inspiring the B2B world. Our creative team are currently exploring how we can collaborate with KalKul to create an offering around bringing websites into the AR space - it’s an exciting time with technology moving at pace and one that as an industry demands attention.

Seeing Echos in the Mind of the Whale

Intelligent storytelling at it’s best, in our opinion, if you get the chance we recommend a visit to ‘Seeing Echos in the Mind of the Whale’ in Barcelona. We love the way that Tom Mustill was able to bring his background as a biologist into his new passion as a filmmaker and writer - creating a story where people and nature meet.

A MOMENT...

A Moment for Los Angeles

Due to the catastrophic recent fires, there is understandably a huge call right now from the Los Angeles community to return to events in the area. This will help people get back to work and back on their feet.

If you’re looking for a program in the City of Angels, we’d be delighted to help develop something that represents the rich history and resilience of the place, and which supports the local community at this difficult time.

And if any of you happen to be in Los Angeles over the next few weeks there are some great events you can attend while also showing support here.

Scotland's diverse venues range from cutting-edge city conference centres to secluded country estates.

Matt Moate

...one of our Senior Art Directors says hello...
Hi, I’m Matt, an art director at Ivory.

A graduate of the Royal College of Art, I have more than two decades of experience as a designer. My first job was illustrating for The Face, and since then I’ve made music videos, directed fashion shoots, developed brands, designed restaurants and created immersive experiences.

As a multidisciplinary creative, I've worked with many global brands and national institutions, helping them find new ways to engage and delight audiences through architecture, film, graphic design, illustration and multimedia installations. I’ve directed ballet for Nike, designed digital wayfinding for the Imperial War Museum, and created an interactive wave machine for Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I’m a keen experimenter in my work, and as an artist filmmaker I’ve exhibited globally at the ICA, Barbican, MoMu Fashion Museum, Center for Architecture, and the Guggenheim Bilbao.

Since joining Ivory, I’ve had a central role in shaping the company’s creative output, delivering innovative creative for our clients. Our aim within the creative department is always to always push for the unexpected and make creative use of technology.

And when not in front of a computer, I can be found making furniture.

Coffeehouse Update

Last month, we once again opened the doors to our discussion salon, the Ivory Coffeehouse.

On the agenda this time were the rapid advancements in AI. The world of AI is transforming almost as rapidly as the geopolitical landscape – and businesses that don't adapt to these shifts will swiftly be left behind.

At an in-person briefing in Soho, our audience heard from Alex Creswell OBE, chair in AI and Digital at Manchester University, as he scanned the horizon of the new political landscape and mapped the latest developments in AI, providing insight into the implications for marketing leaders.

We’ll be holding further Coffeehouse sessions in the coming months, in the US, London and online.

If you would like to attend a future Coffehouse Live in the US/ Europe or online please email tom.oliver@ivoryworldwide.com
